| In order to report establishments or individuals selling sea turtles, evidence is a must. Without evidence, the guilty party will simply deny the charge. We therefore take photographs of the restaurant or other location where the turtles are being sold, especially of the actual turtles in their bins or tanks. We report the establishment/individual to Chinese authorities, as it is rightfully illegal in China to barter in sea turtles, for food or otherwise. A fine is usually imposed. Afterwards, we follow up every two weeks on the restaurant or fish market where the violation took place to make sure they continue to comply.
